Hats and Heels, Inc/ Lupus Foundation of America Mid-south are two of the leading funders of lupus research so you and those you love can enjoy healthier, longer lives in Mobile County. When you raise money, we can continue to offer resources to help you adopt and maintain healthy behaviors.
“Know Lupus,” is one of Hats and Heels, Inc’s premier events for raising funds to save lives from this cruel, mysterious disease. When you take part in a Hats and Heels, Inc./LFA, “Know Lupus” event, you experience firsthand the power of the movement to end lupus.
“Know Lupus,” is a combined didactic and hands on educational day intended to provide basic skills needed to implement a productive life with Lupus.
Lupus affects 5 Million People worldwide, 1.5 Million Americans, and 27,000 Alabamians and 20% are children.
“Know Lupus” is to empower women, men, and children to utilize the knowledge of the awareness by identifying the consequences and symptoms of Lupus.
Is there a registration fee?
Participants are encouraged to fundraise or donate that will drive advocacy and lupus research.
Should I register ahead of time?
Yes. Registering online gives you access to many great fundraising tools and keeps you updated on Strutting 4 A Cure events info. It also gives our staff an idea of how many people expected on the day of the events.
Can I participate in Strutting 4 A Cure Events if I’m not on a Team?
Yes. You can choose to walk or fundraise individually. However, maybe consider starting a team and asking friends, family and coworkers to join and rally even more support for Hats and Heels, Inc.
Is there a fundraising minimum?
No, but we encourage every participant to support “Know Lupus” by reaching out to friends and family for donations and/or making a person donation.
How are donations made?
Donations can be made via cash, check, online, direct deposit at any WoodForest Bank, PayPal/HatsandHeels.inc, Amazon Smile, or safe and securely to your personal fundraising page with a credit card. All checks should be made payable to Hats and Heels, Inc.
